The Friday night (July 9th) NACAC/Canadian Mountain Running Championships race will be run on this course at the Canmore Nordic Centre. Please note that athletes will be marshalled at 6:15pm from Day Lodge at the Canmore Nordic Centre to walk down to the start line for the 6:30pm start.

July 8, 2010:

Due to wildlife activity on Nakiska Mountain, the Friday Night Nakiska Race has been relocated to the Canmore Nordic Centre. 
 
Race will begin Friday at 6:30pm.  Race package pick up / late registration will be be on the race site in Main Lodge at the Canmore Nordic Centre. 
 
We apologize for the inconvenience.

July 3, 2010:

Package Pick Up: Will be at the Ultimate Fit Centre in Canmore (822 Main Street) Thursday (July 8th)  3pm - 6pm and Friday (July 9th) 10am - 6pm.  The Ultimate FIT Centre will also have a Canmore Challenge Special on SoLo Energy Bars. 
 
Note: If you are competing in the Friday night race, your package must be picked up by Friday at 3pm. 
 
Race packages and race registration for Friday and Saturday's races will be available at the race sites but we strongly encourage you to pick up the race packages at the Ultimate Fit Centre. 
 
Special Note:  Recent "Wildlife Activity" on Nakiska Mountain may force the Friday, July 9th race to be held at the Canmore Nordic Centre.  Please check the website regularly for updates.  A final decision will be made by the Alberta Parks and the Race Organizers Tuesday, July 6th.

May 29, 2010:

The Friday event has been expanded to include the Canadian Junior Mountain Running Championships. Men and women aged 19 years and under are eligible to compete in this 7km race that starts at 6:30pm (same time as open event). The race will begin at the 5km mark of the open race and follow the same course from there to the finish. The race will serve as the qualifying event for the junior team at the World Mountain Running Championships.

Two new categories have been added to the registration process to allow competitors 19 years and under to sign up for this race.

May 11, 2010:

The Friday night July 9th Nakiska NACAC Race is shaping up to be an epic battle between Team Canada and Team USA.  Recently, Team Canada Member Jason Loutitt finished second overall in the BMO Vancouver Marathon and was the first Canadian finisher.

Jason will have many tough competitors from south of the border.  Here is an article on the very strong US team coming up to the Canadian Rockies.
