The 2009 Canmore Challenge will be held Saturday, June 13th, 2009, and will also be the host for the Canadian Mountain Racing Championships. Each participant will receive a Canadian Mountain Racing Championship racing shirt.

The Canmore Challenge is a unique event that has something for runners of all ages and abilities. The course delivers breathtaking scenery, great up and down terrain and an exhilarating challenge. If you are looking for a fun and competitive race, the Canmore Challenge is the race to run. Distances of 12km, 8km and 4km will be offered, as well as a 1km fun run for kids 12 and under.

The School Challenge (8km distance) encourages everyone to be physically active. School-aged participants will have their race fees reduced to $20.00 if they sign up with another family member. Partial proceeds from the race will be directed back to the schools for physical activity programs.

This year the Canmore Challenge won the hosting rights for the 2009 Canadian Mountain Racing Championships. This event will feature some of the best endurance athletes in Canada and will be part of the selection process for the National Team that will represent Canada at the World Mountain Racing Championships in Italy.
